video games beyond a game (entry twelve)
video game adaptations
Today I would like to talk about the impact of video games on series and movies
A long time ago, video game movies were discredited by the terrible adaptations that arose.
but nowadays it seems to me that video game adaptations have improved quite well, with some exceptions
An example of this is the Mario Bros. movie, which was a success and compared to its 1993 predecessor, there were too many improvements.
I don't think making video game movies is easy since there are things to take into account, for example, the movie Five Nights at Freddys was highly appreciated by fans but most of the public didn't enjoy it at all.
I think that perhaps an important factor may be that the world of movies is a little overshadowed by the world of television series.
An example is the series The Last of Us, a very famous series that seems to me to have a great story that you can enjoy even though you don't know anything about the video game.
A more recent example could be the Fallout series, personally I have never played any game in the series, but I have heard good reviews about it.
I think that you have to keep in mind that you want to show them in an adaptation, if you want to tell the same story as the video game or perhaps expand the story a little, since this can be very influential in the story.
Personally, I love anything related to video games, and I am glad that these adaptations bring to more people those stories that have captivated me and maybe they will also become interested in video games.
